AWKWARD! First Trump-Pence Interview Goes Haywire With One Question (VIDEO)

If the first joint interview the newly hatched Trump-Pence GOP team gave to “60 Minutes” is any indication, this is gonna be one rocky marriage of convenience. And it’s also gonna give comedians lots of raw material to work with.

The subject of negative campaigning came up. Trump–aka the Orange Menace–is the master of all things negative, and Pence has decried the use of negative campaigns in modern politics, so Lesley Stahl asked him:

“You said negative campaigning is wrong. And a ‘campaign ought to demonstrate the basic decency of the candidate.’ With that in mind, what do you think about your running mate’s campaign, and the tone and the negativity of it?”

Pence, just like the typical politician he always will be and Trump constantly rails against, tried to dodge the query, saying:

“I think this is a good man who has been talking issues the America people care about.”

Yeah, whatever, Mike, you sniveling weasel. Stahl reminded Pence about Trump calling Ted Cruz “Lying Ted.” To that, Pence retreated to his script once again:

“This campaign and Donald Trump’s candidacy has been about the issues the American people care about.”

Stahl:

“Are you saying it hasn’t been negative?”

Trump tried to lean in and field the question, so Stahl said of Pence:

“He apologized for being a negative–”

Finally, Trump had to try and end the matter:

“We’re different people.

“I’ll give you an example. Hillary Clinton is a liar. That was proven last week.”

Stahl shot back:

“That’s negative.”

Doubling down, Trump let loose again:

“Hillary Clinton is a crook, I call her Crooked Hillary.”

Once more Stahl reminded Trump:

“That’s negative.”

Proving that Pence is nothing but an accessory, much like a watch or pair of cufflinks, Trump pointed to his running mate and said:

“I didn’t ask him to do it. I don’t think he should do it. Because it’s different for him.”

I’m beginning to wonder: Is that really Mike Pence sitting next to Donald Trump, or just a really lifelike ventriloquist dummy that the even bigger dummy is speaking for? Whatever the case may be, clearly these two morons deserve each other, and also deserve the butt whipping they’ll get on Election Day.

Here’s the interview. Try not to laugh so hard that you injure yourself:
