Ben Carson said Sunday that he would not allow any Syrian refugees into the United States and that anyone with “big frontal lobes” in their brain could easily see the folly of letting any refugees from the brutal civil war in Syria into the country.

WTF?!

Appearing on “Fox News Sunday,” Carson told Chris Wallace:

“Bringing people into this country from that area of the world, I think, is a huge mistake. Because why wouldn’t [ISIS] infiltrate [the refugees] with people who are ideologically opposed to us? It would be foolish for them not to do that.”

Then Dr. Carson got all medical on Wallace and added:

“We should use our expertise and resources to help get them resettled — over there — and to support them over there,” he said. But to bring them here under these circumstances is a suspension of intellect. You know that the human brain has these big frontal lobes, as opposed to other animals, because we can engage in rational thought processing.”

The former neurosurgeon also said that his highly advanced brain gave him the ability to:

“Extract information from the past [and] present, process it, and project it into a plan.”

Of course, he did not elaborate on what plan he might have for the problems in the Middle East. Perhaps because has none.

As if he hadn’t already said more than enough for one day, Carson then added:

“Animals, on the other hand, have big brain stems and rudimentary things because they react. We don’t have to just react, we can think.”

I wish Chris Wallace had asked Carson what objection he could possibly have to allowing Syrian refugee children age five and under to seek asylum in the United States? Does he think ISIS will be sending toddler terrorists with AK-47s hidden in their diapers? Or will they instead seek to smuggle plastic explosives in the form of rattles and pacifiers?

The more this man talks, the clearer it becomes that he has no clue about what to do when it comes to international affairs and matters of great consequence.

No wonder he fits in so well with the rest of the Republican Party.
