Crazy Lady Say What?! Heidi Cruz Compares Ted’s Campaign To The Fight To End Slavery

Perhaps you thought that when Texas Senator Ted Cruz dropped out of the race, we’d get some respite–if only temporary–from having to listen to the patented blend of batshit crazy and fire and brimstone he’s so found of belching out like so much intestinal gas. And by and large we have. So this time we have his wife, Heidi, making the shake your head statements.

On a conference call with the Cruz campaign’s National Prayer Team, Mrs. Cruz portrayed husband’s presidential campaign to the abolition of slavery.

Yes, she really said that. She remarked:

“I don’t want you to feel like any of this was in vain. I believe in the power of prayer. This doesn’t always happen on the timing of man, and God does not work in four-year segments.

“Be full of faith and so full of joy that this team was chosen to fight a long battle. Think that slavery — it took 25 years to defeat slavery. That is a lot longer than four years.”

So now slavery and one man’s selfish ambition to be President are analogous? In what universe is that the case?

Later in the call, Mrs. Cruz went on to add this bit of crapola:

“I want to assure all of you that this was not a race we gave up. This was a race that no longer had a viable path to victory, and it would’ve been very demoralizing for you all and the troops to go through nine states of losses. We left on a high note. We left when there was no possible way that we were going to win.”

You didn’t give up? When you drop out, that kinda automatically qualifies as giving up.

Then Heidi decided to try and sculpt her own version of history by telling supporters:

“We have changed the Republican Party. This is no longer about the establishment and the old way of doing things versus the Constitution. This party is now being deceived, but the old battles are behind us, the new ones are before us.”

Blah blah blah. Face it, Mrs. Cruz: Your husband lost the primaries to perhaps the most deeply flawed candidate to ever seek the office, Donald Trump. What that tells us about Teddy Boy is anything but positive. But hey, keep on dreaming.
