The Financial Connection Between Donald Trump And Russia Has Finally Been Proven

For decades now, there have been rumors that Donald Trump and the Trump Organization have accepted questionable financing from less than savory sources such as organized crime, money laundering operations, and foreign governments. And while there have been hints of proof here and there, most of it was inconclusive or only provided a partial view of what might be going on behind closed doors.

Now, however, thanks to an incredible new book from New York Times finance editor David Enrich, we have a more complete view of exactly how Trump financed his business ventures, and the trail leads right back to Russia.

The book, entitled Dark Towers: Deutsche Bank, Donald Trump, and an Epic Trail of Destruction, was released in February, and some of the excerpts are nothing short of stunning and damaging for the president. For example:

“There was no doubt that Deutsche Bank had extensive business dealings with Russia, and those dealings included acting as a conduit for dirty money to get out of Russia and into the western financial system.”

On her show recently, MSNBC host Rachel Maddow interviewed Enrich and also read extensive portions of Dark Towers. One that caused the most conversation was this one, which draws a line between Russia, Deutsche Bank, and Donald Trump:

“Now the theory was that one of the reasons Deutsche had been willing to take such risks on loans to Trump was that it wasn’t actually taking the risks at all: (Russian bank) VTB had agreed to secure the loans; if Trump defaulted, Deutsche could collect whatever it was owed from the Russian bank.

“In effect that meant that VTB was the one lending to Trump — a direct financial connection between the Russian government and the American president.”

There’s the direct line: Russia gives money to VTB, which is controlled by Russian President Vladimir Putin, and that money is then transferred to Deutsche Bank, which loans it to the Trump Organization. Just like that, Russia has its hooks in Donald Trump. In essence, he becomes their puppet and does their bidding if he wants to keep his company afloat.

The reason Donald Trump refuses to release his taxes is simple: He’s been in Putin’s pocket for years. And he knows if that information gets out, it will confirm exactly what we’ve always suspected about him.
