On Thursday, both NBC News and the Washington Post were able to confirm from multiple sources that Jared Kushner, a senio adviser to President Donald Trump and also his son-in-law, is now a focus of the FBI investigation into possible collusion between Trump, campaign staffers, and Russian operatives as part of the 2016 election.

Specifically, federal investigators are looking at a series of meetings Kushner held with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak and Sergey Gorkov, the head of the largest bank in Russia, Vnesheconombank. The bank has been under U.S. economic sanctions ever since Russia’s annexation of Crimea and also for its support of separatists in eastern Ukraine.

All of this raises serious questions about Kushner, who has been given a voluminous portfolio of issues by President Trump. And since Kushner, like Trump, is also involved in New York real estate deals, it would seem to suggest that both the president and Kushner may have made financial deals with Russian contacts in order to obtain badly needed funding to maintain their businesses when the real estate market crashed in 2008.

And now we have a former Kushner employee coming forward to say that she cannot understand why Trump’s son-in-law has been given any responsibility at all in the administration.

Harleen Kahlon, a digital media manager who briefly worked at Kushner’s publication Observer, told Politico that she left the company run by Kushner when he blatantly stiffed her on an agreed-upon bonus she had earned for meeting certain metrics. Instead, Kahlon says Kushner told her to “take one for the team” and do without the money.

Kahlon also made a posting last year on Facebook in which she said Kushner isn’t smart enough to handle any job that hasn’t been given to him by his relatives:

“We’re talking about a guy who isn’t particularly bright or hard-working, doesn’t actually know anything, has bought his way into everything ever (with money he got from his criminal father), who is deeply insecure and obsessed with fame (you don’t buy the NYO, marry Ivanka Trump, or constantly talk about the phone calls you get from celebrities if it’s in your nature to ‘shun the spotlight’), and who is basically a shithead.”

If that’s indeed the case, no wonder Donald Trump is so fond of him. Shitheads tend to stick together.
