Over at Fox “News” — aka Trump TV — they take great pride in brainwashing their idiotic viewers and pretending Donald Trump isn’t a criminal.
But one Fox contributor has finally seen the light and is engaging in a scorched earth policy as he bids farewell to the right-wing network.
Retired Lt. Col. Ralph Peters sent out a blistering email to his colleagues Tuesday, accusing Fox of being nothing more than a “propaganda machine for a destructive and ethically ruinous administration.”
Peters also reflected on his service in the military as a reason he felt the need to get as far away from the lies of Fox as possible:
“Four decades ago, I took an oath as a newly commissioned officer. I swore to ‘support and defend the Constitution,’ and that oath did not expire when I took off my uniform. Today, I feel that Fox News is assaulting our constitutional order and the rule of law, while fostering corrosive and unjustified paranoia among viewers.”
Another focus of ire for Peters was the way Fox so eagerly defends Russia and Vladimir Putin. Fox, Peters wrote, is eagerly advancing “Putin’s agenda by making light of Russian penetration of our elections and the Trump campaign.” And it sounded like he was pointing right at Fox host Sean Hannity with this:
“When prime-time hosts–who have never served our country in any capacity–dismiss facts and empirical reality to launch profoundly dishonest assaults on the FBI, the Justice Department, the courts, the intelligence community (in which I served) and, not least, a model public servant and genuine war hero such as Robert Mueller–all the while scaremongering with lurid warnings of ‘deep-state’ machinations– I cannot be part of the same organization, even at a remove.”
Of course, none of this will make a bit of difference at Fox, where they willingly surrender this country’s national security in pursuit of the Almighty Dollar, the only god that they, or Trump, will ever worship.
