No matter how many times the GOP and their lunatic fringe supporters try to blame former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for the tragic deaths of four Americans at the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, time after time, hearing after hearing, from one faux bout of outrage to another, there has never been even a shred of evidence that the Democratic nominee could have done anything to prevent the attack.
But hey, who needs fact when you’re trying to smear a candidate you know you cannot possibly beat fair and square?
This week, the families of two Americans who died at Benghazi have filed a lawsuit against Hillary Clinton, blaming her for their deaths. Just how baseless and utterly specious is this lawsuit? Enough that even Fox News contributor Andrew Napolitano says it’s nothing but a political stunt.
Speaking with the zucchini brained Fox host Steve Doocy, Napolitano said:
“Quite frankly, I don’t think either parts of this lawsuit are going to go — they’re certainly not going to go anywhere during the election campaign.”
The former judge also noted this about Larry Klayman, the right-wing nutjob attorney who filed the suit on behalf of the families:
“The lawyer here who a lot of us know Larry Klayman is a real gadfly who has been driving Hillary and folks who agree with her crazy with lawsuits for many years. And this is just another one of them.”
So why the lawsuit in the first place? Politics, Napolitano declared:
“Judges will not rule on something like this during the campaign and they don’t like to rule on cases like this at all because they view them as essentially political. If you don’t like Hillary, go on television and tell everybody why you don’t like her. Don’t bother the judicial system. That would be the attitude of most federal judges.”
That, and without any real evidence, what is the point of clogging the courts with this kind of crap? As the judge said, it’s all about politics.
