Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) is sick and tired of Donald Trump promising to help those who are on the front lines of the COVID-19 crisis, and she’s making it clear that she’s had quite enough of the president’s empty words.

For weeks now, Trump has paid lip service to making sure medical professionals who are treating patients who have contracted coronavirus have what’s known as personal protective equipment (PPE). Things like sterile gloves and face masks, both which are essential to treating those with the often fatal disease.

Late last week, NBC News reported that many healthcare workers are frustrated and fearful as they try to do their jobs:

“A hospital nurse in Michigan says she and her colleagues have discussed bringing in bleach to make their own disinfectant wipes. A pregnant nurse in Ohio says she has no choice but to tend to critically ill patients without a specialized N95 mask. And a health care worker in Georgia has resorted to scouring local hardware stores in an effort to secure the protective masks.”

Trump says supplies are on the way, but they haven’t arrived, which is a danger to both patients and those who treat them. And that could lead to more infections and a rising death toll.

Rep. Waters posted her complaint on the president’s favorite social media platform, Twitter, and she spared no words expressing herself:

Our hospitals are out of gloves, masks, gowns, respirators, protective shoe coverings, and basic supplies! What the hell more is Trump waiting for? Hey stupid, this is the worst case scenario!

Each and every day that there are more delays in the essential equipment needed to treat those with coronavirus, more people will die and nurses and doctors will be at tremendous risk.

If Donald Trump isn’t capable of doing the job he was elected to do — protecting the safety and security of every single American — then he needs to step aside and go back to selling condos to Russian mobsters.
