Few people know Donald Trump as well as his former attorney and fixer, Michael Cohen. More importantly, Cohen knows Trump at his worst and all of the evil the man is capable of.
So when Cohen speaks about what he believes Trump will do, he’s speaking from years of experience.
On Friday, as the scandal surrounding comments the president made about veterans who gave their lives in service to the United States continued to grow and even get worse, Cohen was asked by NBC News anchor Lester Holt what he expected Trump might do next and what we can expect from him in the ensuing 60 days before the election. What Cohen had to say was far from comforting.
Cohen told Holt:
“Donald Trump will do anything and everything within which to win. I believe that includes manipulating the ballots, I believe that he would even go so far as to start a war in order to prevent himself from being removed from office. My biggest fear is that there will not be a peaceful transition of power in 2020.”

Does anyone other than the most heavily brainwashed Trump acolyte doubt that Cohen is accurate? We’ve all wondered whether or not Trump will hand over the reins of power if he loses the election. And it doesn’t stretch credulity in the least to believe the current president would start a war as a way of trying to cling to power and rally the nation behind him.
We are living in the most dangerous period in U.S. history. But remember, We the People have been given the ultimate power in this republic, and we need to send a clear message to Donald Trump, his enablers in Congress, and the entire world when we exercise that power at the ballot box.
