Moronic Trump Acolyte: 1.8 Million Voters Committing ‘Some Sort Of Fraud’ (VIDEO)

As part of his campaign speech in recent weeks, GOP nominee Donald Trump has repeatedly insisted that the election is “rigged” and that Democrats will attempt to steal if from Republicans. He offers no proof, of course. Instead, he just throws the line out and his supporters lap it up like manna from heaven.

And now we have the perpetually clueless Trump shill and Tea Party favorite Scottie Nell Hughes saying on CNN this morning that nearly 2 million voters are engaged in “some sort of fraud” when they cast their ballots. Hughes went on to add:

“Pew research in 2012 came back and said one in eight voter registrations are inaccurate. There is significantly [sic] that they’re no longer valuable. That’s 146 million voters in the United States today, 1.8 million has some sort of fraud or has something wrong with their voter registration.”

Hughes said the GOP has a solution to the problem:

“The solution? Voter ID laws! That’s why the Republicans are pushing so hard for it.”

While the brainless Trump acolyte is correct that Pew published a study in 2012 on the American voter registration, her interpretation of that data is incorrect. Pew reported that 24 million registrations were “significantly inaccurate,” and that 1.8 million deceased voters were still listed on the rolls. Pew did not, however, did not conclude that incorrect registration information amounted to “voter fraud.”

Hughes also attempted that assert that Trump’s constant talk of a “rigged” election “was all about who’s going to turn their people out to the polls.” And she also stated:

“The Clinton camp has one way of doing it, on strategy. The Trump camp is saying, you have to turn out, there’s no way you can just stay home this year if you want to see a Republican take over the White House.”

Then why not just say it’s important for Trump voters to show up instead of always saying the election is gonna be stolen, Scottie? Why? Because your candidate loves to traffic in conspiracy theories and lies. He wants to incite violence and unrest. He calls himself the “law and order” candidate, but he would be delighted to see rioting in the streets when he loses. Anarchy is the best friend of tyrants. It allows them to grab power and never relent.

Also, here’s the facts on voter fraud: In 2014, Loyola Law School professor Justin Levitt  looked at voting data and found just 31 legitimate cases of fraud in over 1 billion votes cast. Talk about miniscule!
