When an Algerian man drove a truck into a Christmas market in Berlin on Monday, killing 12 people and injuring 48, you might think it was clearly an act of terrorism. But according to the upside-down logic of Donald Trump, such attacks are merely a “religious threat.”
Taking to Twitter, Trump made two postings:

slaughter you. This is a purely religious threat, which turned into reality. Such hatred! When will the U.S., and all countries, fight back?

Such rhetoric is meant to bolster Trump’s on-again, off-again ban on Muslims entering the United States, which he referenced yet again this week at his Mar-a-Lago estate when he told the press:
“You’ve known my plans all along and I’ve been proven to be right, 100-percent correct. What’s happening is disgraceful. That’s an attack on humanity, is what it is. It’s an attack on humanity and it’s got to be stopped.”
As with all of Trump’s proclamations and calls for action, this one lacks any specificity whatsoever. Fight back how, exactly? Bomb ISIS? We’re doing that. Attack them on the ground. Yep, got that one covered, too. Cut off their sources of revenue? They’re about out of funds as is. Also, what does one do about lone wolf attackers who are hiding in Western countries and preparing to strike like the one in Berlin? Got a plan, Donald? Then where is it?
Donald Trump is all talk and no action. He loves to hear the sound of his own voice, so he makes all kinds of promises that he knows will never be kept. Or he goes on Twitter and tries to sound like a tough guy. But he’s fake tough and phony brave. If he was locked in a room with a real terrorist, Donald Trump would soil himself in seconds and beg for mercy.
The next time Donald Trump decides to go off on one of his flights of bluster, keep in mind one irrefutable fact: He has never truly been a success at anything in his life. His father got him started in the real estate business and Donald has had several business ventures go bankrupt over the years. This is the guy who’s going to defeat ISIS? We have a better chance of Santa Claus actually showing up this evening and leaving a new Mercedes in our driveways.
