Mueller Hires Additional Prosecutors, Signals More Arrests Are Coming Soon

In a sign that the investigation into the 2016 election is expanding, Special Counsel Robert Mueller is reportedly hiring more prosecutors as he focuses in on the main players in the Russia probe, and that’s very bad news for key figures in the Trump administration.

Bloomberg reports:

“Investigators in New York; Alexandria, Virginia; Pittsburgh; and elsewhere have been tapped to supplement the work of Mueller’s team.

“A heavy investigative load for Mueller had been anticipated from the start. The special counsel has already issued 20 indictments and secured guilty pleas from five individuals, and some of the defendants are mounting stiffer-than-expected battles in court.”

Make no mistake, while the additional staffers are partially meant to help with the ongoing investigation, others will be used for the purpose of prosecuting suspects whose names are on unsealed indictments on file at federal courthouses in both Virginia and Washington, D.C.

So whose names might be on those unsealed indictments? Here are the most likely suspects who will be surrendering to authorities in the weeks ahead:

Jared Kushner: Trump’s son-in-law is up to his eyebrows in the Russia conspiracy. He’s got numerous financial ties to Russia and Russian oligarchs. Kushner will either cooperate with Mueller or spend the rest of his life in prison.

Hope Hicks: People wondered why Hicks left her position as White House Director of Communications so suddenly earlier this year. The reason may well be that she’s busy working with her attorneys because she knows Mueller has plenty of evidence on her part in the Russia matter.

Michael Cohen: Cohen can best be described as the man who knows too much. Like Kushner, he has only two options: Tell what he knows in exchange for leniency or die in prison.

Ivanka Trump: From the beginning, Ivanka has tried to remain in the background, but the fact that her husband was one of the main figures at the infamous Trump Tower meeting suggests that she’s going to be pressured via an indictment.

Why, you may ask, isn’t Donald Trump on the list? Because Mueller may not indict him in order to avoid a protracted legal fight in court as to whether or not a sitting president can be indicted. But that doesn’t mean Trump can’t be named as an unindicted co-conspirator, which would provide all the evidence necessary to trigger impeachment.

July and August are going to be busy months in the Russia probe, and they promise to provide plenty of fireworks.
