Oops! Don Jr. Hints At His Own Guilt With Paranoid Outburst During Interview

Granted, it’s hard to imagine Donald Trump Jr. looking any more guilty than he already does when it comes to the Russia investigation, but Junior managed to jump to the top of the suspect list with remarks he made during an interview he gave to USA Today.

Don Jr., you probably recall, was one of three Trump campaign officials who were present at that infamous meeting with Russian nationals in June of 2016. He was joined by Jared Kushner and then-campaign chairman Paul Manafort. Manafort is now cooperating with federal investigators looking into the Russia conspiracy, and that alone should be enough to terrify Junior.

Back to that USA Today interview. In it, Don Jr. was asked about the ongoing probe being conducted by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, and he commented:

“I know that I’m not worried about anything I actually did. That doesn’t mean they don’t totally fabricate all of this stuff at this point.”

Does that sound like something an innocent man would say? If you’re not guilty and know it, why not just say you’re not worried and leave it at that? The “totally fabricate” line sure has the ring of paranoia, doesn’t it?

In September, Junior also suggested that Mueller’s team would make up something to bust him, remarking on “Good Morning America”:

“I know what I did, and I’m not worried about any of that. That doesn’t mean they won’t try to create something. I mean, we’ve seen that happen with everything. But, again, I’m not.”

There’s another big legal problem for Don Jr. lurking in the very near future: His testimony before the House and  Senate Intelligence Committees. He was under oath at the time, and if he lied about anything, he’s facing a perjury charge, which would then open him up to more questions from one of Mueller’s federal grand juries.

Most attorneys advise their clients to remain silent and not give any interviews when they’re accused of something. But, just like his eternally dense daddy, Junior can’t resist running off at the mouth. And that alone may wind up sending him to prison for a very long time.
