Priebus Claims Congress Will Fund Border Wall Because Trump ‘Won Overwhelmingly’ (VIDEO)

Donald Trump and members of his administration have a selective view of recent history, along with a bizarre notion that if you want something badly enough, it will magically happen.

For example, take a look at these tweets the so-called head of state sent out Sunday:

Then Trump sent his chief weasel–I mean Chief of Staff–Reince Priebus out to appear on Meet the Press and continue with the slanted view of history, along with a big dose of lies. Preibus told Chuck Todd:

“I’m pretty confident we’re going to get something that is satisfactory to the president with regard to border security within current negotiations. We expect a massive increase in military spending and we expect money for border security in this bill. And it ought to be. Because the president won overwhelmingly. Everyone understands the border wall was part of it.”

Trump has even indicated that he’s willing to let the federal government shut down next week if Democrats don’t agree to including funding for his stupid wall. He has also used the specter of blackmail as a way to get what he wants, hinting that he’s only too happy to eliminate federal funds that reimburse health insurance companies under the Affordable Care Act if Congress won’t give him exactly what he wants. He won’t compromise, because that isn’t a word in his very limited vocabulary.

And the crap about how Trump “won overwhelmingly” is just a flat-out joke of monumental proportions. Trump lost the popular vote by nearly 3 million total ballots, and he didn’t exactly romp to a giant margin in the Electoral College either. And, if you factor in that he had help from both Russia and Wikileaks–which Trump’s own CIA director recently blasted as “a non-state hostile intelligence service often abetted by state actors like Russia”–his “victory” seems less impressive and is now the subject of multiple investigations.

So please spare us the nonsense, Donald and Reince. Mexico isn’t paying for the wall, and they never will. Instead, you want to stick American taxpayers with the tab, which is just a giant game of bait and switch so you can try to save face. But you lost all credibility a long time ago.
