Report Says Ivanka Was Not Pleased Conway Dragged ‘Her Brand Into An Ethics Mess’

It now appears that senior White House adviser Kellyanne Conway may be in even more trouble than first expected for her comments on Fox News that viewers should go out and purchase items from the Ivanka Trump fashion collection.

Earlier this week, discussing Nordstrom’s decision to drop the Ivanka line of goods from their stores due to poor sales, Conway said on Fox and Friends:

“It’s a wonderful line, I own some of it. I’m going to give it a free commercial here, go buy it today!”

Conway’s plugging of the First Daughter’s merchandise may have violated federal ethics laws, but now we learn that Ivanka was not pleased by the mini-commercial, either.

Politico reports:

“In her attempt to do Trump’s bidding, she may have crossed one of the people closer to Trump than herself — Ivanka Trump. A source close to Trump said that his daughter scolded Conway for dragging her brand into an ethics mess and told her not to mention it again on TV.

“This was a continuation of a conversation that Ivanka Trump had with her father weeks earlier about leaving her business out of the politics, that Conway wasn’t aware of.”

From past reporting, we know that the one person in the Trump inner circle you do not want to piss off is Ivanka. There are suggestions that she approached her father and told him to dismiss former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski  when the Trump effort was flagging early in the 2016 race for the White House. Within days, Lewandowski was toast and working as a commentator for CNN.

ffice very soon or at least removed from all on-air appearances. If Conway cannot manage to control her big mouth better, she will continue to be a liability to a White House that faces abysmal poll numbers and leaks from within the administration.

Nice knowing ya, Kellyanne! Good luck with your alternative facts!
