RNC Chairman Calls Trump Out For His Whining About Nominating Process

Over the past few days, as GOP front-runner Donald Trump has seen the chances of his ever winning the delegates needed to guarantee a first ballot victory at the Republican convention, he has begun to act like a petulant child, tossing out allegations that the Republican National Committee (RNC) is seeking to deny him what is rightfully his. Specifically, Trump has said:

  • “It’s a disgrace for the party. And Reince Priebus should be ashamed of himself. He should be ashamed of himself because he knows what’s going on.”
  • “It should go to a vote in Colorado like other places….The best way to do it would be just a vote, should be a vote of the people. That’s the way it should be done. The delegate situation is a very unjust way of doing things.”

See, Donald Trump is under the badly mistaken illusion that the candidates and the voters are in control of the nominating process. But he’s wrong. The party controls that, and it always has. Trump thinks he should always be the winner, no matter the game or the situation, and that’s to be expected from a megalomaniacal narcissist like him. It’s all about him. Only, it isn’t when it comes to the inner workings of the GOP.

Finally, RNC chairman Reince Priebus has had more than enough. He decided to go on Trump’s favorite social media platform, Twitter, and call out the Donald:

Yes, give us a damn break! Trump knew the rules (or should have) when he decided to run for the GOP nomination. But now that it appears the convention may be a contested one at which he will likely lose, he’s whining and acting like this is all news to him.

It’s time for Donald Trump to accept a painful reality: When it comes to politics, he’s a loser, and he always will be. Thanks for playing, Donald, now take your toys and go home.
