Rob Reiner On Donald Trump: He’s A ‘Satire Of A President’ (VIDEO)

Though Donald Trump managed to give a semi-coherent speech Tuesday evening, not everyone was impressed with what the alleged president had to say. Some who watched the speech had such low expectations for Trump that they were willing to go to for style over substance and declare the speech to be a success simply because Trump didn’t insult anyone or drop any F-bombs.

But director Rob Reiner wasn’t buying the “new and improved” Trump routine. Appearing on Hardball, Reiner told MSNBC host Chris Matthews:

“He was able to read off a teleprompter. At least we know he can read.”

Reiner then ripped Trump a new one by saying:

“He’s a pathological liar, so there’s nothing he says that you can believe. I mean seriously. It’s just not true what he says.”

As for what Trump has done during his short time in office, Reiner said he sees the entire thing as a:

“Satire of a president. If we did this, you’d go, ‘That’s ridiculous!’”

It’s hard to argue with anything Rob Reiner had to say to Chris Matthews. Trump is indeed a liar and the very idea of him as president would be laughable were he not so determined to do some of the incredibly harmful and hateful things he’s promised. Add to that the growing evidence that he and his campaign were in contact with Russian officials who may have helped swing the election to the Republicans, and you start to see a more nefarious pattern to the entire matter of Trump as head of state.
