Over the weekend, the latest revelation about potentially damaging information obtained by Special Counsel Robert Mueller was about emails from the Trump transition team, which Trump officials tried to suggest was somehow illegal, a blatant lie.

Mueller’s team, meanwhile, informed the White House in no uncertain terms that they were not the slightest bit intimidated, with a spokesperson commenting:

“When we have obtained emails in the course of our ongoing criminal investigation, we have secured either the account owner’s consent or appropriate criminal process.”

Reaction (and overreaction) by the Trump administration more than likely means that those emails are highly incriminating, and the person they are most damaging to is probably senior adviser Jared Kushner, who also happens to be the president’s son-in-law.

Among the trove of emails Mueller now has, Newsweek reports:

“The special counsel’s office got ahold of ‘tens of thousands’ of emails from President Donald Trump’s transition team, including ‘sensitive’ ones of senior White House adviser and Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner.

“Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team reportedly received the emails from 12 accounts from the General Services Administration, which served as the host for the transition team’s system.”

Only Kushner was mentioned by name, and that should chill him to the core of his very being. And it apparently did, because his lead lawyer, Abbe Lowell, has been reaching out to a crisis management PR firm. That would seem to suggest that Team Kushner is expecting some very bad news from the special counsel’s office in the near future.

Here’s what else all of this points to: Jared Kushner has been indicted. His name is on one of those sealed indictments on file at the federal courthouse in Washington. And when that indictment is unsealed, Kushner will then have every reason to roll over on his daddy-in-law, Donald.

Robert Mueller has the president in checkmate, and Trump is so dense he probably doesn’t even realize it yet.
