Senate GOP Suspected Of Using Russian Propaganda As Basis For Investigation Of Hunter Biden

Back in May, when Senate Republicans made it clear that they intended to try and slag former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, by launching bogus investigations meant to try and damage the presumptive Democratic nonminee because Donald Trump feared him above all other Democratic candidates, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer warned:

“The highest priority of Senate Republicans lies in promoting conspiracy theories that have already been discredited on numerous occasions. Conspiracy theories which, by the way, are known to be part of Russian disinformation campaigns. Our Republican majority is using Russian propaganda to try and damage a political opponent. Is that a disgrace? Is that a disgrace?”

And now it appears that’s exactly what Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), chairman of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs is doing, but he’s been busted and may have to pay a price for his actions.

On Monday, a letter to FBI Director Chris Wray from several key Democratic members of Congress was made public, and it specifies that members of the GOP in Congress are indeed trying to magnify Russian disinformation and lies as the basis for their bogus probe of Joe Biden’s son.

The letter, which was signed by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) ,Schumer, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA), and ranking Senate Intelligence Committee member Sen. Mark Warner (R-VA), reads in part:

“We are gravely concerned, in particular, that Congress appears to be the target of a concerted foreign interference campaign, which seeks to launder and amplify disinformation in order to influence congressional activity, public debate, and the presidential election in November.

“Given the seriousness and specificity of these threats, as members of congressional leadership and the congressional intelligence committees we believe it is imperative that the FBI provide a classified defensive briefing to all Members of Congress and that the briefing draw on all-source intelligence information and analysis, consistent with due regard for the protection of sensitive intelligence sources and methods.”

Yes, the Russians are back, and this time they’re using key Senate Republicans to spread lies about the son of the likely Democratic nominee, which is exactly what Russian President Vladimir Putin wants because he has some sort of leverage over Trump and potentially on some Congressional Republicans.

With polls showing Joe Biden up by as much as 15 points over Trump, you can expect even more dirty tricks from the president and his minions. But unlike 2016, we know what to expect and how to make sure we finally take our country back from Putin and his puppets.
