Way back in 1988, the business mogul Leonard Stern commissioned a TV documentary about Donald Trump. However, the film never aired because Trump managed to prevent its circulation.

The film’s producer Libby Handros recalled:

“He did everything he could to suppress this documentary. And back in the day when we made the film, there were only a handful of networks. You had a few independent entities, but everything was controlled by big corporations, the three networks. And Donald was threatening lawsuits and stuff and they just didn’t need to take that on, even if the lawsuit would have no merit in the end.”

But this is the age of the Internet and the streaming of movies, which has made Netflix one of the most successful companies of the past decade.

And what a picture is painted of the Donald! Trump’s “addiction” to acquiring cash and real estate led him to build developments in Manhattan, Atlantic City, Palm Beach, and Los Angeles. He also skirted the law on multiple occasions during his career, underpaid his workers, associated with mob bosses, committed union fraud, harassed tenants, and ignored environmental regulations. Yet he never faced any legal jeopardy as a result.

Trump: What’s the Deal? also looks at the Donald’s endless publicity stunts and how he became the “poster child for 1980s greed”  The film also explores Trump’s tumultuous personal affairs, stubborn, often bullying business behavior, and his collapse into bankruptcy.

And the entire time, Trump’s personal philosophy is clear. Matter of fact, it continues to this day:

“It’s not whether you win or lose, but whether you win!”
