They’re calling it the Carly Curse, and it goes like this: In a blatant attempt to curry favor with Iowa voters, 2016 GOP hopeful Carly Fiorina decided to publicly declare that she was cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes over her alma mater, Stanford, in yesterday’s Rose Bowl, posting this on Twitter before the game began:

Stanford completely dominated the game, winning 45-16. Safe to say Fiorina will not be fielding offers from ESPN to join their team as a college football analyst.

The reaction on social media to Carly’s shameless pandering was nothing short of brutal. Take a look:

 

No matter what the political advantage may be, you never ever pick against your alma mater. Carly Fiorina should stick to doing what she does best: lying about everything.
