The Trump 2020 Campaign Decided To Attack Rachel Maddow – That Was A Big Mistake

Even though he loves to attack NBC, MSNBC, and their parent company, Comcast, Donald Trump almost never mentions the biggest star at MSNBC, Rachel Maddow. That probably has something to do with the fact that Maddow is a Rhodes scholar with a doctorate in political philosophy from Oxford University and he’s terrified of what would happen if he did.

Trump’s 2020 reelection campaign, however, thought it would be a good idea to go after Maddow, who recently declared that the news networks should stop carrying the daily coronavirus press briefings that have been headlined by Trump over the past few weeks. Specifically, Maddow said:

“If it were up to me, and it’s not, I would stop putting those briefings on live TV. Not out of spite, but because it’s misinformation,” she said. “If the president does end up saying anything true, you can run it as tape. But if he keeps lying like he has been every day on stuff this important, we should, all of us should stop broadcasting it. Honestly, it’s going to cost lives.”

Maddow is 100 percent correct. The media should not be complicit in spreading the president’s lies for the very reason that they could cost people their lives.

In response, the so-called “Trump War Room” fired off this tweet:

Here’s the problem with that tweet: It’s a lie. Trump did indeed call COVID-19 a hoax at a MAGA rally in North Charleston, South Carolina:

“One of my people came up to me and said, ‘Mr. President they tried to beat you on Russia, Russia, Russia. That didn’t work out too well. They tried the impeachment hoax.”

“This is their new hoax.”

FactCheck.org even verified that Trump had called coronavirus a hoax

That led to the ultimate humiliation for Trump’s war room, which was handed down by Twitter users:

Does the video lie? No, but Trump sure as hell does. He lies about everything.

And now he wants to pretend that COVID-19 is no big deal and we can go back to life as normal very soon, even though medical experts have warned that’s a mistake.

Donald Trump does not give a diddly damn about any of us. He only cares about getting a second term and screwing us all over in new and horrible ways.

If we don’t vote this madman out of office come November, coronavirus will seem like a walk in the park compared to the nightmares Trump will inflict on this nation in a second term.

  1. New official name for the corona virus 19 is “Trump’s Virus”. Use this in all correspondence, talking points. meetings etc on all types of media. He wants recognition, give it to him!

  2. Well, no wonder the Trump War Room didn’t remember him calling it a hoax – he said it at the rally in March that he doesn’t remember holding…!
