A little more than four years ago, Donald Trump promised to fully explain how his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, came to the United States, was granted favorable visa status, and later became a U.S. citizen so quickly.
At the time, back in August of 2016, Trump said he’d be holding a press conference “over the next couple of weeks” to address the entire process regarding Melania’s journey from Slovenia to the United States and what she went through to become an American citizen.
Today’s the 4th anniversary of Trump’s promise to release comprehensive info on Melania Trump’s unusual immigration “over the next couple of weeks.” I’m beginning to think he was lying. https://t.co/RVj9RCMjHq

But here we are over 48 months (or 208 weeks) later and there’s been no press conference, no further talk of Melania’s journey from Eastern Europe to the U.S., and nothing but silence when a member of the media asks the White House about the matter.
So what gives? Well, instead of having any answers, there are instead even more questions about Melania’s route from there to here, despite her husband’s bragging:
“They said my wife, Melania, might have come in illegally. Can you believe that one? Let me tell you one thing. She has got it so documented, so she’s going to have a little news conference over the next couple of weeks. That’s good. I love it. I love it.”
But instead of the promised presser, all we’ve gotten is chirping crickets. And we’re also left asking questions such as these:
- Why did Melania get a so-called “Einstein visa” since those are usually reserved for scientists, doctors, athletes, or artistic geniuses?
- If the current first lady speaks five languages (which she claims) why does she seem to have so much damn trouble with English?
- When she met Donald Trump, Melania was a model. Is it really important that we allow models favored immigration status? Is there a shortage of beautiful, talented women here in the U.S.?
- Why does the White House refuse to answer any of these questions?
Something doesn’t add up here, and considering that we know the current president lies about everything, it’s only fair that we should be suspicious about how his wife navigated the immigration system he claims is too lenient and has been working to make more restrictive since taking office,
So, Donald and Melania, can we expect a press conference or at least extensive documentation on this matter anytime soon? Or will we have to wait another four years for your reply?
