Time For Bible College–When Asked To Name His Favorite Bible Verse, The Donald Turns Into Sarah Palin (Video)

Donald Trump is fond of saying that is favorite book is the Bible. And, in the same breath, he also makes sure and gets in a shameless plug for his own tome, The Art of the Deal, which he claims is his second favorite book.

And then just yesterday, during an interview with Mark Halperin and John Heilmann, the Donald proudly declared:

“I love the Bible. I’m a Protestant. I’m a Presbyterian. I went to Sunday school.”

But when Halperin asked Trump to name one or more of his favorite Bible verses, Trump suddenly morphed into the clueless Sarah Palin, who told Katie Couric during the 2008 Presidential campaign that she reads “all of them” when asked what newspapers she read.

Here’s Trump when Halperin asked for a Bible verse that meant a lot to the him:

“Well, I wouldn’t want to get into it. Because that’s very personal. You know, when I talk about the Bible it’s very personal. So I don’t want to get into it.”

I have never met anyone who claims to be a Christian and calls the Bible their favorite book who will not share at least one verse that has resonated with them. But Trump refused. Might that be because as much as he enjoys proclaiming his love for the Bible, Trump has not even read the book? Time for the Donald to go to Bible college, and right quick.

Halperin pressed again, asking for just one verse, and Trump replied:

“No, I don’t want to do that.”

Can you say, Deer caught in headlights? Check out the video, and you can almost see the fear in Trump’s eyes when he realizes he cannot answer the question.

Then Heilmann throws another curve to Trump, asking if he prefers the Old or New Testament. Trump said:

“Probably equal. I think it’s just incredible, the whole Bible is incredible.”

How would you know, Donald? It’s pretty clear you haven’t actually bothered to read it.

So now we can take this lie and stack it atop the growing pile of bullcrap that Trump is accumulating. Pretty soon he’ll have his own Tower of Babel. By the way, Donald, that can be found in Genesis, and you can locate it right at the front of the Bible.

  1. I am very happy I found your site. I’ve been disappointed with the left’s arrogant put downs of any interest in matters of the spirit, and their inability to see the difference between right wing “Christian” dogma and a desire to look into the deeper questions that have inspired humanity for thousands of years. There’s no contradiction between liberal politics and the great prophets: my touchstone has been the Catholic hymn “Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, that you do unto me.” Thank you for continuing the line of thought, feeling and experience that in America goes back to Emerson, Thoreau and Frederick Douglass.
