Trump Cries ‘Treason’ After Fox News Interviews A Member Of Black Lives Matter

In yet another sign that the current resident of the White House is losing what’s left of his already limited mind, Donald Trump went on an enraged Twitter meltdown when Fox News dared to interview and member of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Fox host Martha McCallum spoke with Hank Newsome, president of Greater New York Black Lives Matter, and asked him if he supported violence in support of civil rights. Newsome responded:

“Wow, it’s interesting that you would pose that question like that, because this country is built upon violence. What was the American Revolution, what’s our diplomacy across the globe?

Noting that African-Americans had seen significant gains in wealth and property ownership, Newsome added:

“I said, if this country doesn’t give us what we want, then we will burn down this system and replace it. All right? And I could be speaking … figuratively. I could be speaking literally. It’s a matter of interpretation.”

Trump himself does the same thing: He’ll say something, get criticized, and then say he was just kidding or didn’t mean what he said literally, and yet when a black man does the same thing, suddenly it becomes “treason,” or so the president claimed in a tweet:

Wow! Treason, sedition, and insurrection. That’s kind of interesting since groups such as the Boogaloo Boys, Proud Boys, and neo-Nazis have all called for starting a second civil war. But Trump hasn’t criticized them. Could that be because he agrees with their violent, far-right ideology?

Quite clearly, Trump is trying to run the same racist, xenophobic campaign he ran in 2016. But it doesn’t seem to be working, with every single poll showing that the overwhelming majority of voters are ready for someone who can heal the country, not further inflame things.

As we learned a long time ago, Donald Trump’s default mode is to accuse others of that which he’s guilty of. Considering that he was suspected of conspiring with Russia in 2016 to guarantee a victory, it would seem that once again Trump is engaged in classic psychological projection.
