Trump Gets BLASTED By CNN Guest For His ‘Sick And Vile Use’ Of Veterans (Video)

Now that Donald Trump has decided to throw a massive hissy fit and refuse to participate in tonight’s GOP debate, he’s pretending that he will hold an alternative event at Drake University and donate the proceeds to veterans and wounded members of the military.

But on CNN earlier today, a spokesperson for Trump walked into a buzzsaw of anger and ridicule which was dished out by conservative political commentator Ben Ferguson. Ferguson was appearing along with Trump’s designated spokesperson mouthpiece and paid liar, Katrina Pierson, and Ferguson let her have it with both barrels, telling her:

“This is a sick and vile move by a guy who likes to throw those words around: Donald Trump. To use Wounded Warriors and their true battle scars to his political advantage, I would say this to Katrina: I’m not dumb enough to buy that this is about the veterans, because Donald Trump has never held an event for the veterans on his campaign.”

Everything Ferguson said is true: Trump has not held any campaign events for veterans or donated money he has raised on his campaign to support the cause of veterans or those wounded in combat. He just likes saying the words so he can appear kind and charitable, two things he most certainly is not and never will be.

While he was at it, Ferguson also brought up an incident from Trump’s past: A recent report details how Trump attempted to stop veterans from selling items near his hotel on Fifth Avenue. The New York Daily News story also noted that Trump lobbied lawmakers to limit vendors–including disabled veterans–from selling items outside his hotel. Trump even wrote a letter in which he argued:

“While disabled veterans should be given every opportunity to earn a living, is it fair to do so to the detriment of the city as a whole or its tax paying citizens and businesses? Do we allow Fifth Ave., one of the world’s finest and most luxurious shopping districts, to be turned into an outdoor flea market, clogging and seriously downgrading the area?”

Which means, Ferguson alleged, that Trump is nothing but a whiny hypocrite:

“So for him to come out now and to self-righteously say, ‘I’m gonna stand up for veterans, and I’m going to do an event that I haven’t had time to do’ until it was convenient for him tonight, many veterans are going to be turned off by this. They went and fought for their country and now Donald Trump uses them as political pawns.”

It should be noted that Paul Rieckhoff, head of the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, has said that his organization would not accept any donations from Trump.

Here’s a video of the CNN segment where Ferguson called out Trump for his blatant pandering for political purposes:
