Donald Trump just told the world that all of his crazy talk is nothing more than an act designed to get a rise out of a non-responsive crowd. In other words, Trump just admitted that his signature issue –a wall between the United States and Mexico–is just a gigantic lie, much like every promise he makes.
Speaking to the editorial board of the New York Times, Trump remarked:
“You know, if it gets a little boring, if I see people starting to sort of, maybe thinking about leaving, I can sort of tell the audience, I just say, ‘We will build the wall!’ and they go nuts.”
Yet here’s Trump vowing, declaring, promising to build a wall on the Southern border:
While it would be tempting to believe that such an admission from Trump about this centerpiece of his campaign would cause supporters to abandon him in droves, it seems unlikely to do so. That, of course, is not just a function of Trump being such a good showman (and con man), but also because those who fervently support him are so massively brainless and begging for someone to tell them what they should think.
It’s quite obvious that Trump subscribes to the Big Lie theory which was also the foundation of political philosophy espoused by Nazi Minister of Propaganda Joseph Goebbels, who wrote:
“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”
Which is why Donald James Trump is one of the most dangerous men to appear in the last century. He will lie about anything to achieve ultimate power. Herr Goebbels would be so proud of him.
