Stop the world, I wanna get off!
Just when I thought things could not get any more ridiculous and Bizarro World when it comes to Trump, yesterday he declares we should ban all Muslim immigrants to the United States.
And then during a speech in South Carolina last night, he let this bit of pure unadulterated ignorance issue forth from the hole in his head located below his nose. In other words, directly out of his sphincter:
“We’re losing a lot of people because of the internet. We have to see Bill Gates and a lot of different people that really understand what’s happening. We have to talk to them about, maybe in certain areas, closing that internet up in some ways. Somebody will say, ‘Oh freedom of speech, freedom of speech.’ These are foolish people.”
If that’s the case, then I guess I’m a fool. See, I happen to support freedom of speech, and so does a little document Trump has apparently never heard of: the United States Constitution.
This has all gone too far and for too long. It’s time for the powers-that-be in the Republican Party, as well as the other candidates running for the GOP nomination, to tell Trump that he is too unstable and too inclined to seek so-called solutions that are completely antithetical to the American way of life and system of government.
Why does Trump think Microsoft founder Bill Gates has the power to just “close” the Internet? Is he really so freaking stupid that he believes Bill Gates has a master switch in his office that would make the World Wide Web go dark?
The hactivist group Anonymous is currently directing cyber attacks against ISIS around the world, and I applaud them. I say let those with the real expertise on these kinds of things lead the online charge against the Islamic State.
And Donald, if you find the guy with the switch to stop the world, let me know. I wanna leave this place until you’re nothing but a bad memory.
