Trump’s Approval Rating Plummets By Double Digits As Voters Say He’s Failed To Protect Them

Donald Trump’s approval rating is in absolute free fall, and voters are suggesting that they want to make a change in the November election.

A new Gallup poll shows that Trump’s net approval rating has decreased 15 points, and six points in one week, which is the largest margin of decrease since Trump took office in January of 2017:

“The six-point decline in the president’s approval rating is the sharpest drop Gallup has recorded for the Trump presidency so far, largely because Trump’s ratings have been highly stable and have yet to reach the historical average for presidents (back to 1945) of 53%.”

At the moment, only 43 percent of those surveyed said they approve of the job Trump is doing as president.

The reason for the precipitous drop in poll numbers for Trump is, as you’d expect, based on the way he’s mishandled the coronavirus pandemic and the downturn in the U.S. economy, Gallup notes:

“The current health and economic crisis is undoubtedly the greatest challenge of his presidency so far — and could imperil his standing in the final year of his first term as he seeks reelection.”

Back on March 11, when Trump first addressed the American people and laid out his stay-at-home recommendations for the country, the president’s approval rating actually rose, sending it to the highest in over two years.

But as Gallup reports, much has changed in the month since Trump first addressed the crisis:

“One month is a long time for Americans in quarantine and the dip in the president’s ratings may be equally reflective of their assessment of his performance and an overall souring mood as the unemployment rate and death toll both continue to climb.”

The president often cites polls from Zogby Analytics as being more accurate that those from Gallup, but even that firm has bad news for Trump, showing him losing to former Vice President Joe Biden in a head-to-head match-up. And Zogby also has this warning for the incumbent:

“Trump will need to change his message from blame game to one of safety and economics.”

Donald Trump no longer blaming everyone else for his own failings and shortcomings? What are the chances of that? Slim to none.

  1. I do not see the corvus as his down fall. It has been the catalyst to show the incompentence and the misuse of power Trump has displayed all along. His choice of who and when he will respond to states that need the aid of his outfit will suffer if they are not on his payroll. He has just been exposed as the gangster he is. He does not care about the people he is interested in his escape plans and this could be of concern…

  2. WORST PRESIDENT EVER!!! If you can call over 30,000 people dead, a tanked economy , the worst Stock Market, still caged men, women and children, continuously lying to the citizens and using the government for personal gain for his family & friends Making America Great Again then you are sicker than I thought. How about this: MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN – DUMP TRUMP 2020. Now there’s a hat for ya!
