WATCH Clueless Conway Claim Russian Interference Is ‘Not An Issue Of National Security’

With the news Thursday that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has now convened a grand jury in Washington as part of his investigation into possible collusion between President Trump and campaign staffers with Russian agents during the 2016 campaign, the White House sent out its designated BS spewers to try and spin dross into gold.

On CNN, Chris Cuomo interviewed Kellyanne Conway, and it quickly became obvious that Conway was in her usual mode of deny and obfuscate. She told that the vast majority of American don’t care about the Russia issue and that CNN is obsessed with the matter, then adding:

“This investigation isn’t about Russian interference.”

The CNN host replied:

“Sometimes you have to cover things even when they are not popular. This is an issue of potential national security.”

Conway then went into full “alternative facts” mode, asking Cuomo:

“How is that though? How is it an issue of potential national security? What is the basis for saying that?”

Clearly stunned by how his guest didn’t understand the national security implications of the matter, Cuomo explained that when a foreign country hacks your national election and meets with members of one party’s presidential candidate, it does tend to raise concerns:

“The efforts by and on behalf of Russia to interfere in the election and what they may have tried to do, whom they may have tried to cultivate in furtherance of their efforts are very important questions.”

Trying to pivot and attack, Conway told Cuomo:

“There’s not going to be a single show on CNN, tonight tomorrow, the next day, unless you count the cooking shows or the Parts Unknown shows, that doesn’t feature this Russia, Russia, Russia!”

Cuomo then spoke for all of us who are indeed concerned that our election was compromised last year by explaining to his guest:

“I cover it because I think it’s right. Because I want to know what the Russians did to try to get to the president’s son. I want to know. And I want to know that we now understand those tactics and techniques so we can stop it the next time. And I want to know what financial dealings may have been used if any to try and compromise people around the president.”

If Conway or anyone else in the administration cannot see how Russian meddling in our election is a national security issue, he or she needs to resign immediately. That goes double for the illegitimate president.
