If you weren’t already convinced that President Trump and numerous members of the White House staff are trying to hide something when it comes to the investigation into whether or not there was collusion and cooperation between the head of state and Russian operatives, then what his son Eric said on Fox News should pretty much seal the deal.
As part of an interview he gave to Jesse Watters, the always weasely younger Trump son whined:
“It’s all nonsense. It’s really a witch hunt. It’s really insane. I think, Syria quite frankly demonstrated there wasn’t exactly anything with Russia.”
Then Eric went on to belch out another specious claim his father has used on numerous occasions: The Russiagate investigation is taking place because Democrats are upset they lost the election:
“There was a political party. They got beaten very badly by a person who came out of nowhere who everybody wrote off, who everybody gave no chance to. They outspent us seven to one. He won. There are some pretty disappointed people out there. So, they want to further a narrative for their own political agenda.”
Nice try, illegitimate son of Gary Busey, but there are plenty of Republicans who were calling for a closer look at the election and even agreed a special counsel was necessary.
Watters then asked if the entire thing was just a big hoax. Trump was only too happy to play the not-so-bright parrot and respond:
“It’s a total hoax. It’s a total hoax.”
If it’s a hoax, if it’s all made up and the Trump administration has nothing to hide, why aren’t they lining up to testify under oath before Congressional committees and the special counsel? If they’re innocent, they should be eager to clear their names and move on. Instead, the president fires the FBI director after he’s asked him to drop the matter altogether. And while he was at it, Donald Trump also told Lester Holt he got rid of Director Comey in large part because of the Russia investigation.
A hoax? The biggest hoax of all was perpetrated by Donald Trump when he convinced millions of gullible Americans he was qualified to do anything but host a reality show.
