WATCH: Ted Cruz Smacks Down Bill O’Reilly For Constantly Defending Trump

The GOP is in quite a quandary. They have a front-runner for the 2016 nomination whom they realize will lose by a historic, overwhelming margin should be the eventual nominee, a Texas Senator no one can tolerate because he’s such a massive douchebag, and a Governor from Ohio who is far behind in the delegate count. And now their Presidential candidates are aiming their fire on Fox News.

Last night on “The O’Reilly Factor,” Ted Cruz took Bill O’Reilly to task for always pitching softballs to Donald Trump during interviews. Cruz began with an oft-repeated charge he has used against Trump on numerous occasions: That the Donald has, over the years, donated thousands of dollars in campaign contributions to Democrats. O’Reilly rose to Trump’s defense, telling Cruz Trump didn’t “make those as a politician.”

Cruz responded to O’Reilly by noting that Trump didn’t have to contribute to Hillary Clinton, who may well wind up being the Democratic nominee. Again, O’Reilly tried to play defense attorney for Trump, saying:

“You know how they play the game.”

But, Cruz told O’Reilly, such campaign contributions make Trump a part of the corrupt campaign finance system he loves to say he is no part of. This seemed to get O’Reilly’s goat big time, and he fired back that he’s “not buying it.”

That was when Cruz perfectly destroyed O’Reilly with this one line:

“I know, you defend him a lot, Bill!”

Make no mistake, both Cruz and Trump are dillholes who would destroy this country in more ways than we can possibly count. But for O’Reilly or anyone at Fox News to deny they had a hand in the rise of Donald Trump is disingenuous at best, and blatant, unpardonable hypocrisy at worst. They created the monster and now they want to disown him. How convenient!
