Donald Trump is a petulant, petty, insecure, and incompetent man-child. For those who doubt this fact, consider that multiple sources inside the White House are now telling the Washington Post that Trump became “visibly enraged” when he saw the size of the crowds at the Women’s March and the way they dwarfed the paltry number of people who showed up for his inauguration.
The Post also notes:
“Trump turned on the television to see a jarring juxtaposition — massive demonstrations around the globe protesting his day-old presidency and footage of the sparser crowd at his inauguration, with large patches of white empty space on the Mall. As his press secretary, Sean Spicer, was still unpacking boxes in his spacious new West Wing office, Trump grew increasingly and visibly enraged.”
Trump then sent Spicer out to do damage control, which wound up with the press secretary making the dubious claim that the Trump inauguration had been seen by more people than any in history. Spicer later walked that assertion back, but doubled down on saying the inauguration had been the “most viewed” in history without offering any supporting evidence because none existed.
On Monday, Spicer whined to the assembled White House press corps:
“The default narrative is always negative, and it’s demoralizing. And I think that it’s just unbelievably frustrating when you’re continually told it’s not big enough, it’s not good enough, you can’t win.”
Something tells me both Spicer and Trump have been told “it’s not big enough” on numerous occasions in their lives. You’d think they’d have come to accept that fact by now.
Sadly, this is what we can expect for the next four years, or however long Trump lasts before he gets his corrupt ass impeached and tossed out like last week’s trash. We have a chief executive who is so shallow that he has to pretend he’s better than millions of women who showed up to protest against him. He isn’t; he never will be.
