Yet Another Of Bill O’Reilly’s Colleagues Calls Him A Liar

Another of Fox News host Bill O’Reilly’s former colleagues from his days at CBS News is now saying the loudmouthed O’Reilly is lying about his actions while reporting from Argentina in 1982.

Ignacio Medrano-Carbo, who served as O’Reilly’s cameraman while the two were covering riots in Buenos Aires, says O’Reilly has repeatedly claimed that he saved Medrano-Carbo’s life. Specifically, O’Reilly remarked in 2009:

“The camera went flying. I saved the tape because it was unbelievable tape. But I dragged him off the street because he was bleeding from the ear and had hit his head on the concrete.”

Never happened, Medrano-Carbo says:

“I never fell nor was I bleeding out my ear at any time during my Buenos Aires assignment. I do not even recall Mr. O’Reilly being near me when I shot all that footage nor after I left the unrest at Plaza de Mayo that evening.”

For his part, O’Reilly asserts that he never even worked with the cameraman:

“I never worked with Ignacio Medrano-Carbo. This is nothing more than yet another coordinated attack which predictably comes on the heels of my appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman.”

That blanket denial led Medrano-Carbo to fire back at O’Reilly with this salvo:

“I don’t know what to say… Ninety-nine percent of that footage in his report was mine. How’d he get that footage, if I’m not his cameraman?…I have the footage to show. You can see me in the BBC report. Why would I lie? You used 99 percent of my stuff, and I’m not your cameraman? I certainly did not get beat up. You did not help me.”

This is just the latest instance of O’Reilly being accused of fabricating or exaggerating his days as a field reporter. He has also said he “reported on the ground in [an] active war zone” and “survived a combat situation in Argentina during the Falklands War.” It was later proven that the Fox News host was never in a combat zone during the Falklands War between Great Britain and Argentina.

In the past, O’Reilly has attributed the attacks on his veracity to the “left wing media” and those who are seeking to destroy him. But it seems more likely that Bill O’Reilly is simply a serial liar who uses falsehoods about his bravery to mask the reality that he is, in fact, a sniveling wimp.
