Arrest Of Donald Trump Jr. On Numerous Charges Is Imminent: REPORT

President Donald Trump is said to be very depressed, and it’s not just because Republicans lost control of the House of Representatives in the Tuesday midterm election.

Gabriel Sherman of Vanity Fair reports that the president’s sour mood is due to the fact that he expects his son, Donald Trump Jr., to be indicted and arrested very soon. During an election night party at the White House, Trump was ebullient when it appeared the GOP might keep both the House and Senate:

“About 100 friends and allies of Donald Trump gathered at the White House for a party to watch the midterm-election results. Trump was in high spirits as the first polls closed, thinking that perhaps he’d defied the laws of political gravity once again. ‘His mood was great,’ one Republican who spoke with Trump said, ‘but that was before everything went bad.'”

Junior also knows the walls are moving in on him, and he’s been telling friends he expects to be indicted in the very near future:

“One person close to Don Jr. speculated that Mueller could indict him for making false statements to Congress and the F.B.I. about whether he had told his father about the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting with Russians to gather ‘dirt’ on Hillary Clinton.”

Lying to federal law enforcement is a serious crime, as is perjury, but those are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the crimes Special Counsel Robert Mueller will possibly file against the president’s son. The others include:

  • Conspiracy to defraud the United States
  • Interference with a federal election

The speculation now has turned to when exactly Don Jr. will be indicted. Keep in mind that Mueller unsealed indictments against 12 Russian intelligence agents in July as the president was headed to a summit with Vladimir Putin in Helsinki. And now Trump is on his way to France for celebrations to mark the centenary of the armistice which ended fighting in World War I. What a perfect time to arrest Junior as a way of sending a very powerful message to a president who thinks he and his family are above the law.

As Donald Trump Jr. himself infamously said via email when asked if he wanted to obtain dirt on Hillary Clinton:

If it’s what you’re saying, I love it!
