During a Trump rally in Hickory, North Carolina, on Sunday evening, a massive American flag being held aloft by two scissor lifts suddenly collapsed:

Fortunately, no one was injured. A gust of wind appears to be the culprit that blew over the lifts and flag.
But it didn’t take long before Twitter lit up with comments about how the entire event was emblematic of Trump’s presidency:
It’s a metaphor for the entire @realDonaldTrump presidency: No planning, half-assed execution & a miracle if no one gets hurt

Attaching the flag that way to those lifts is obscenely contemptuous. The GOP has absolutely NO RESPECT for our flag.

Relax everybody, the universe has got this. It keeps trying to tell us this f**ker is going down, but we keep going with the anxiety. 😂

Even the flag wants NO affiliation 😂

Isn’t that what they used to call an omen or maybe even a sign from God?

The metaphor of America.
