Court Documents Suggest Another Round Of Mueller Indictments Is Imminent

Ever since the unsealing of indictments charging former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and his business partner Rick Gates on Monday, speculation has begun to reverberate around Washington: Are other indictments on the way?

A look at court filings in recent weeks suggests there are indeed many more indictments in the pipeline. Steve Reilly of USA Today tweeted out this information earlier this week:

One thing we know from looking at the documents currently on file at the federal court in Washington: They do indeed clearly show there are more indictments which have yet to be unsealed. While we cannot know whether or not all of the sealed cases are related to the Russia investigation, it seems highly unlikely that a man as thorough as Robert Mueller would only seek two indictments as part of a case as complex as this one.

What names might be contained in the unsealed indictments? Here are some likely suspects:

  • Former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski
  • Former campaign manager and current White House adviser Kellyanne Conway
  • Trump son-in-law/White House adviser Jared Kushner
  • Ivanka Trump
  • Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn
  • Former foreign policy adviser Carter Page
  • Donald Trump Jr.
  • Attorney General Jeff Sessions
  • President Trump (either individually or as an unindicted co-conspirator)

There’s also chatter suggesting that Mueller will unseal more of the indictments while Trump is on his trip to Asia. The president leaves Friday for that 12-day visit to China, Japan, the Philippines, South Korea, and Vietnam. Imagine the embarrassment that would be caused if Trump is indicted while overseas.

Granted, we cannot know any of the specifics at this point, but it’s no exaggeration to say more indictments are indeed ahead. All that remains to be seen is who is charged and when the hammer falls. Stay tuned.
