Don Jr. & Ivanka At Top Of Mueller’s List For Conspiracy Charges: Report

When he made his plea deal with Special Counsel Robert Mueller on Thursday and admitted that he had made contacts with Russia for Donald Trump during the 2016 election, Michael Cohen didn’t just place his former boss in legal and political jeopardy, he also put the president’s children, Don Jr. and Ivanka, under the microscope.

Yahoo News reports that the special counsel has now placed Don Jr. and Ivanka at the top of the list as he begins to expand his focus in the Russia probe:

“Multiple sources have confirmed to Yahoo News that the president’s elder daughter, Ivanka, who is now a top White House adviser, and his eldest son, Don Jr., were also working to make Trump Tower Moscow a reality. The sources said those efforts were independent of Cohen’s work on the project. One of the sources said Ivanka was also involved in Cohen’s efforts. And a separate source familiar with the investigation told Yahoo News that Mueller has asked questions about Ivanka and Don Jr.’s work on Trump Tower Moscow.”

Court papers filed in Manhattan Thursday included these facts about the Trump Tower Moscow project that Cohen spearheaded:

  • “One of the things Cohen lied about was that he ‘briefed family members’ of Trump’s who worked at the Trump Organization about the proposed Moscow skyscraper.”
  • Before she joined the White House as an adviser to her father, Ivanka was an executive at the company. Don Jr. and Trump’s middle son, Eric, are running the Trump Organization while their father is in office.

But the plan to build that elusive Moscow high-rise didn’t just involve Cohen and then-candidate Trump:

“A source familiar with the Trump Organization confirmed to Yahoo News that Ivanka and Don Jr. engaged in separate efforts to build a Trump Tower in Moscow.”

And that means that Don Jr. and Ivanka are also looking at some of the same charges that legal experts have long suggested will be in the coming indictments from Mueller. Those charges include, according to the New York Times:

  • Conspiracy against the United States
  • Election interference
  • Election fraud

If and when those indictments are handed down, the only question that remains will be this one: How quickly will President Trump throw his own flesh and blood under the bus to save his fat ass?
