When she stood on the floor of the Senate Friday afternoon and announced that she would be voting to confirm Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh to be the next associate justice on the U.S. Supreme Court, the question was immediately asked: Why would she do such a thing? How could a woman ignore the accusations made by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford against Kavanaugh?
Now, a day later, we may have an answer to why Senator Collins made the decision she did. It turns out that she’s married to a man, Thomas Daffron, who just so happens to be a lobbyist for a firm that has numerous connections to Russia and Russian oligarchs.
Eric Garland, who runs the consulting firm Competitive Futures, recently did a bit of digging, and he posted his findings on Twitter:

How surprising, huh? Another Republican who can be connected to Russia. Which begs a larger question: Is the entire GOP in bed with Russia? It sure looks like it. Consider these facts:
- Russian President Vladimir Putin has admitted he wanted Trump to win the 2016 election.
- The National Rifle Association (NRA) accepted money from Russia, using some of it to purchase pro-Trump ads and to support pro-Trump Congressional candidates.
- Russian hackers attacked servers at the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and shared the information with WikiLeaks, which also has connections to the Russian government.
- On July 4 — also known as Independence Day in the U.S. — seven Republican members of Congress visited Moscow even though Russia was under American sanctions at the time.
It should come as no surprise to learn that the husband of Susan Collins has connections to Russia because it’s quite clear that the Republican Party is a wholly owned subsidiary of Russia and Putin. Time to vote them out of office and impeach the traitor in the White House. Only then can we return this country to normalcy.
