‘Family Guy’ Creator Seth MacFarlane Takes Shots At Duck Dynasty Morons During Awards Ceremony

In my humble opinion, the animated series Family Guy is one of the funniest things to appear on television over the past couple of decades. Maybe that means I have a juvenile sense of humor, or maybe it’s really that funny.

So I guess it makes sense that I would agree with the show’s creator, Seth MacFarlane, when it comes to politics and social matters. What he said during a ceremony at the Critic’s Choice Awards only made me like MacFarlane even more. Keep in mind the awards were being broadcast on the A&E Network, which is home to the show Duck Dynasty.

MacFarlane had just received the Louis XIII Genius Award when he commented:

“The word ‘genius’ gets thrown around a lot, which is good because otherwise I probably wouldn’t be getting this. But even taking that into account, let’s put this in perspective here, being called a genius in Hollywood is kind of like being called thin at Disneyland. “Let’s also not forget, I’m being declared a genius on the network that airs Duck Dynasty. This is a show whose cast members believe hurricanes are caused by gay marriage. I wish I were joking.”

And just like that Seth MacFarlane had spoken for many of us who were disgusted by the comments made by Phil Robertson, patriarch of the Duck clan, just last year. He said, in part:

“Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers — they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right […] Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men.”

While he was at it, Papa Duckbrain also declared that African-Americans were much happier back in the days of Jim Crow.

I want to say thank you to Seth MacFarlane. Thanks for Family Guy, and thanks for saying what was in your heart. You’ve got a fan for life right here.

  1. I certainly disagree with Phil Robertson and evey Person that claims Christianity as a means to behave dishonorably. I no longer believe in god, because I find doing the right thing is something I can do of my own free will.
