Ben Sasse is a U.S. Senator from Nebraska. He’s not exactly a household name, but that may be about to change based on the things he posted on Twitter over the weekend.
Sasse apparently had some free time on his hands, so he took the social media podium and began tossing out some dandy questions for the Donald, along with some thoughts on the possibility of Trump being the GOP nominee. Here’s some of what he hit Trump with:
.@realDonaldTrump
Q4: You brag abt many affairs w/ married women. Have you repented? To harmed children & spouses? Do you think it matters?— Ben Sasse (@BenSasse) January 25, 2016
Keep in mind that Trump has bragged about his affairs and conquests, writing:
If I did [write about my love life], the world would take serious notice. Beautiful, famous, successful, married — I’ve had them all, secretly, the world’s biggest names.
Sasse also praised Trump with his tweets, posting these two:
Mr @realDonaldTrump: You've struck a chord w/American ppl. (My folks email me abt u weekly). I think because you’ve rightly diagnosed (cont)

…much of what’s wrong in DC. Youre very talented&on a huge roll. If I were betting–youre likely next POTUS. Congrats. But— Ben Sasse (@BenSasse) January 25, 2016
Then Sasse began with some excellent questions which should be asked of Trump in the next debate. No, make that at every debate until he gets around to answering them:
.@realDonaldTrump
…At the same time, we have questions about how you would govern. Would like to ask you some questions, if you are willing?— Ben Sasse (@BenSasse) January 25, 2016
.@realDonaldTrump
Questn1. You said you want single-payor “govt pays4everyone" HCare. If that isnt your position now when did it change? Why?— Ben Sasse (@BenSasse) January 25, 2016
Hmm…that is a very good question, but the reply from Trump is likely to be, Ben Sasse, yeah, he’s a loser. No one would ever vote for that guy again.
Sasse was far from finished:
.@realDonaldTrump
Q2: You’ve said you “hate the concept of guns.” Why the change? When did it happen? What’s the 2nd Amendment mean to you?— Ben Sasse (@BenSasse) January 25, 2016
.@realDonaldTrump
Q3: A few yrs ago u proposed $6trillion tax hike. Still want to do that? Agree w/ Biden that higher taxes=more patriotism?— Ben Sasse (@BenSasse) January 25, 2016
Question 4 was the one above about Trump’s affairs, but then Sasse fired off this:
.@realDonaldTrump
Q5: I believe 1 of the most damaging things POTUS Obama did is ignore Constitution, act on his own,& bypass Congress(cont)— Ben Sasse (@BenSasse) January 25, 2016
Yep, gotta be Obama’s fault. I guess Obama encouraged Trump to run, too. Republicans are so damn predictable!
.@realDonaldTrump
Do you agree that exec unilateralism is very bad? Because you talk A LOT about “running the country” as though… (cont)— Ben Sasse (@BenSasse) January 25, 2016
.@realDonaldTrump …as tho 1 man shld “run America." Questn5: Will you commit to rolling back Exec power & undoing Obama unilateral habit?

These r sincere questions& I sincerely hope u answer rather than insult. Many gr8 Americns r in your camp &they desrve…— Ben Sasse (@BenSasse) January 25, 2016
.@realDonaldTrump
…they deserve str8 answers. America doesnt need a strongman. We need a Constitution. Someone who knows the meaning(cont)— Ben Sasse (@BenSasse) January 25, 2016

The President's job is NOT 2"run Amerca."This is precisely Obama's error. The "presiding officer" of the Exec Branch(cont)— Ben Sasse (@BenSasse) January 25, 2016
"presiding officer" has the job of defending Constitution&"faithfully executing" the specific laws of a LIMITED govt https://t.co/6d9L2Cn3I7

I think these are all fair questions from Senator Sasse, even though I disagree with his overall political philosophy. But if he thinks Trump will actually respond to them in any fashion that resembles a real answer, then he must also think that bears don’t crap in the woods.
They do, and Trump won’t.
As for the query on Trump’s affairs, I have a clip from the first debate that I want Senator Sasse to take a look at. In it, Trump is asked about the derogatory statements he has made about women over the years, calling them “fat pigs, dogs, slobs, and disgusting animals.” Has he suddenly changed his beliefs, or does he just say so out of political expediency?
Oh look, it’s a bear walking into a YMCA to use the toilet. Yeah, right!
As we know, the GOP are hardly in a position to criticize anyone on Constitutional Law with all the crazy bills (bathroom laws, really?) they’ve been passing lately at the State levels…They are not ‘gatekeepers’, they are obstructionist bastards… They complain about Obama, whose specialty @ Harvard was Constitutional Law, but not ONE of them can prove or show in any meaningful way how the President has violated the Constitution, otherwise they would have impeached him by now… Republicans.. they complain bitterly the Government doesn’t work.. then they get elected, and PROVE IT……..
