The chairman of the House Intelligence Committee has some news for President Donald Trump: If you think the Mueller investigation is all you have to worry about, my committee is about to let the American people know the full depths of your treachery.
Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) was a guest on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday morning, and he told host Dana Bash that he has already seen “compelling” evidence that Trump did indeed conspire with the Kremlin:
“You can see evidence in plain sight on the issue of collusion, pretty compelling evidence. Now, there’s a difference between seeing evidence of collusion and being able to prove a criminal conspiracy beyond a reasonable doubt.”

Schiff pointed to the infamous June 2016 Trump Tower meeting at which Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner, and Paul Manafort were promised “dirt” on Hillary Clinton by Russian nationals with connections to Russian intelligence:
“All of this is evidence of collusion, and you either have to look the other way to say it isn’t or you have to have a different word for it, because it is a corrupt dealing with a foreign adversary during a campaign.”
And it’s not just the 2016 election that Schiff and his committee are focused on. They’re also following possible financial links — including money laundering — done through the Trump Organization, which may have served as a go-between where money from Russian organized crime was used to purchase properties owned by Trump’s company. Trump Org. is now under the control of the president’s two oldest sons, Don Jr. and Eric. That means they may also be part of a larger conspiracy that could wind up destroying the family business.
Whatever the connections between Trump and Russia are, Schiff made it clear he won’t stop investigating until he finds them:
“At the end of the day, the most important thing for the American people to know is whether the president is somehow compromised, whether there’s leverage that the Russians could use over the president. And if the Russians are in a position to expose wrongdoing by the president or his campaign, that’s compromising.”
If and when Schiff does find the proof, he’s going to wipe that stupid grin right off Donald Trump’s fat face.
