Maryland Girl Scouts Taunted With Racist Insults At Public Meeting On Animal Abuse (Video)

Just when you think human beings cannot possibly stoop any lower, a story like this one comes along and makes you realize that there are far too many hate-filled and hateful people in this world.

Recently in Cecil County, Maryland, a group of little girls who are members of Girl Scout Chesapeake Bay Troop 176 showed up at a public meeting because they were disturbed by a TV report which said animals at the local shelter were being mistreated. They wanted to let the Animal Care and Control Oversight Commission know their thoughts on the issue. Isn’t this what we want our children to do? To get involved in changing things for the better?

How did some of the so-called adults at the meeting react to these socially conscious young ladies? They made comments such as:

“Go back to Baltimore, where you belong.”

As if they don’t belong in their own hometown. Just reading that quote makes my blood boil! And they said this to children! Good Lord! Have some people no freaking shame at all?!

The jackasses who made these disgusting remarks were later identified as supporters of Cecil County’s animal control vendor, A Buddy for Life.

One of the Girl Scouts, 13-year-old Arianna Spurlock, recalled:

“They were calling us, like animals and stuff. And I didn’t really know why because if they are calling us animals, aren’t they supposed to be helping animals?”

At one point in the video, which is posted below, a troop leader tells some of those criticizing the girls:

“You guys, no racial comments, okay. Saying that they belong in Baltimore because they’re black, that is wrong. Please don’t say that okay?”

I have a better idea: Grab the bums by their shirt collars and toss them from the room! If they don’t like that, ban them from any future meetings.

Following the meeting, Cecil County executive Tari Moore made contact with the girls and apologized for what happened. She also told them she would personally take them on a tour of the animal care facilities.

These Girls Scouts helped teach a valuable lesson about citizen involvement and caring for animals to the cretins who sought to silence them with ignorant taunts. We can only hope the idiots will take the lesson to heart.
