From the moment his office and residences in New York were raided by the FBI back in early April, it has long been assumed that Michael Cohen could well be the key to unraveling the many mysteries surrounding Donald Trump, Russia, and the 2016 election. And now it appears that Cohen is ready to reveal the information that will lead to the downfall of Trump as both president and a free man.
Former advertising executive Donny Deutsch has been a close friend of Cohen’s for decades now, and he told MSNBC host Ari Melber this week that he recently spoke with Cohen regarding whether or not Trump’s former attorney will be turning state’s evidence against his most famous client:
“I believe at the end of the day, Michael Cohen is gonna do what you would do, what I would do…what’s best for him and his family.”
Deutsch also noted that if Cohen broke the law, he did so on behalf of Trump, which gives him even more of an incentive to cooperate and save his own skin instead of facing decades in prison by remaining silent. And that’s very bad news for the Donald, because, Deutsch added, Cohen holds “the missing link” to the Russia probe. Cohen can corroborate all of the criminal acts. That, Deutsch told Melber, should have the president “very worried.”
But it was what Deutsch said near the end of his conversation with Melber that will really get your attention: He said he believes Michael Cohen will wind up being a “pivotal character in U.S. history.”
The comment by Deutsch also fits perfectly with a report earlier this week from CNN, which quoted another friend of Cohen’s who remarked:
“He knows a lot of things about the president and he’s not averse to talking in the right situation. If they want information on Trump, he’s willing to give it.”
Michael Cohen, to put it simply, is Donald Trump’s worst nightmare, and he’s about to give Special Counsel Robert Mueller the keys to the kingdom. When he does, Trump will resign or be impeached. He’ll also be going to prison. Cohen presents the greatest danger to the president, and the clock is now ticking on how long Trump has left in office and as a free man.
