New York Prosecutors Suspect The Trump Organization Illegally Hid At Least $100 Million In Revenue

Recently, we learned that New York Attorney General Letitia James had filed court documents asking a judge to compel Eric Trump, executive vice president of the Trump Organization, to give testimony under oath as part of an ongoing investigation by the AG into whether or not the president’s company has inflated its assets over the years in order to obtain loans from banks.

According to the New York Times:

“The new documents revealed that the attorney general was not only asking questions about representations Mr. Trump and his company made to banks, but also about how they reported more than $120 million, mostly in forgiven debt, to tax authorities at the city, state and federal level.

“If Ms. James finds evidence of criminal offenses, she may refer the case to another law enforcement agency or ask Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo of New York to authorize her office to open a criminal investigation.”

However, it seems that there may be much more to the story than the court documents reveal, with former federal prosecutor and deputy to Special Counsel Robert Mueller Andrew Weissman revealing that it’s also believed the Trump Organization attempted to hide at least $100 million in revenue, which would open up the company and the Trump family to additional charges of falsifying tax documents, income tax fraud, and other financial crimes that could be used to build a larger case of racketeering against the Trumps and the Trump Organization. Such a case could even result in the company being liquidated in order to pay the overdue taxes, interest, and penalties that have accumulated in the years since the alleged fraud took place.

Attorney Robert J. DeNault reports that Weissman made it clear the Trump family appears to be in very serious legal jeopardy:

We can expect more legal revelations regarding the Trump Organization in the weeks ahead.
