Nutbag Preacher John Hagee: God Will Destroy America

It might be a good idea to go ahead and get your affairs in order, because Pastor John Hagee is predicting that God will soon destroy the United States.

During his daily show, “Hagee Hotline,” the loopy minister of doom declared that because President Obama will not meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu when he comes to speak to Congress on March, God will destroy America. Hagee did not mention the fact that Netanyahu’s impending visit was not first cleared with the White House and has been arranged by Speaker of the House John Boehner in an attempt to pressure the President to stop nuclear negotiations with Iran. Hey, no need for facts to stand in the way of a good Apocalypse story.

Nations that are “anti-Semitic” have always come to ruin, Hagee asserted, and added:

“I am a student of world history, and you can wrap up world history in 25 words or less and here it is: the nations that blessed Israel prospered and the nations that cursed Israel were destroyed by the hand of God.”

Hmm… I guess those billion of dollars in foreign aid we send to Israel on a yearly basis — and Israel is the single largest recipient of U.S. foreign aid — aren’t considered “blessings.” If someone gave me a couple of billion clams a year, I sure as hell would feel blessed.

But Hagee wasn’t quite finished with his paranoid rant, concluding:

“[God] is watching what America does as it responds to Israel. If America turns its back on Israel, God will turn his back on America. And that’s a fact. It’s proven by history.”

If  you’re in need of a good laugh today or just feel the desire for some good old hellfire and brimstone to get you going, watch this video of Hagee and no doubt you’ll be shaking your head at the end of it.

  1. He may be right about the absolute collapse & destruction of the USA but for the opposite reason. We will be destroyed because of the murder & chaos we have caused directly & indirectly around the world. Our country is not Anti Israel. We are pro Israel to the extent that we continue to support the government with massive amounts of aide, even though they continue to persecute cause great suffering & harm.

    • I agree with you. The USA government is allowing the murder of unborn children, promoting homosexuality, disrespecting the Lord our God and Jesus Christ the Messiah, accepting a “feel good” and “name it and claim it” religion instead of the true Gospel, destroying families and turning its back on true “justice”. God has been trying to get our attention but we continue to walk in our own willful way and for that we stand in judgment. I believe Obama is the evil leader God set over us in judgment. Think about the confusion and chaos our nation is experiencing that are expressly unChristian and evil – race riots, rape, knock out games, gang battles, robberies, murder, abortions, etc. Think about the attacks on Christian institutions by abortionists, homosexuals, race mongers, atheists, satanists, etc.

Yes, we are deserving of God’s judgment and it is upon us.

      • It’s not so much that God will reach out and smack us down, but that left to our own devices and our unGodly morals, he will allow us to destroy ourselves. Simply by taking his hand of blessing that we have enjoyed these few hundred years away from us.

    • You are either voluntarily ignorant or you have been thoroughly deceived because literally nothing in your statement even begins to approach the truth.

    • u need to get a remedial Sunday school class b/c uve obviously forgotten the Most Important thing about God Mr Hagee…God is Love

      • Actually, I think you need to return to class. God is definitely a God of Love. He gave His only Son as a sacrifice for our sins. He is ALSO a God of Judgement, and America IS hanging in the balance., the same as many other Nations in the past have & were judged and collapsed!
I pray He will open your eyes & heart so you can see what is happening in reality.

    • Mr Hagee , you are talking like a Haajee -Those Muslims who performed Hajj,Fifth Pillar of their Religion in Makkah. Now the Jews following the real teaching of Prophet Musa is no more in the Israel, rather the Israel is become a Paradize for those Zionist who mock #Holocaust and costantly perpetrate massacre for Innocents true believers of GOD, Christian/Jews/Muslim.

  2. I don’t know John Hagee, but Obama treats Israel as if they are our enemy, and supports movements wanting to commit wholesale genocide, first on the Jews, then us.
The nutbag is in the Whitehouse.
Try reading “The gathering storm” if you dare.

  3. Andrew Bradford…. You are quite likely the most willfully ignorant man to ever put pen to paper.

  4. I believe it will happen for all the reasons listed by everyone above …America has tried God….He has given us grace time after time….we continue to ignore and disobey. Why is anyone unbelieving or surprised.

  5. I’m sure Sodom & Gomorrah laughed when they were warned! Keep laughing America…..
Unless the USA heeds the words written in 2 Chronicles 7:14, we ARE lost!
” If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

  6. As someone who won a 12-1 bet that Bush snr wouldn’t get reelected in 1992 because of his mistreatment of Israel – the scale of the bet is a measure of how unconvinced my friend was – I would advise a degree of humility about how this will work out…

    • People for the American Way does not fund this blog; I do. You might try getting your facts straight before you start making accusations that only serve to reinforce your own ignorance.

  7. Read the Bible. It’s all in there. Matthew 24, Revelation, Isaiah, Jeremiah, all throughout the Bible. Before going off on things you know nothing about, do some research. This country is going down. I hope you’re ready. God have mercy on you.

    • I HAVE read the Bible…probably more times than you have. Revelation was written about a “near” future event: the fall of the Roman Empire, not today’s America. But like so many people who claim to be religious, you don’t know the real historical context of the Bible, just what some minister as poorly informed as you has put into your mind as fact. Perhaps you should study more and prophesy less.

      • I get to field this one!
The Revelation of Jesus Christ ends with Jesus returning, the Millenial Kingdom, another rebellion, and finally, The New Jerusalem coming down to the New Earth.
Since none of these things have happened yet, it’s safe to say the Book is not just for what was then near future events.
I have no idea when, I’m not sure how anyone could think they can interpret Revelation, however, I am confident it will happen, and God will point at His Word and say “this is where I told you such and such would happen”.

        • Yes, but what I was saying is that the apostle who wrote Revelation was thinking the Apocalypse would come within his lifetime, not 2000 years later. I agree that the Lord will return, but disagree that Revelation deals with an event twenty centuries hence. The historical context of all the books of the Bible is important. Otherwise, we are just reading a book of words with no relevance to when it was written. And to think that someone alive today is able to predict future events (i.e John Hagee) is, in my humble opinion, giving far too much credit to man and too little to God. Those who think they can predict the end of the world would do well to study the words of Christ, who said “only the Father” knows when that will happen. But I do appreciate and value your opinion, and I thank you for taking the time to comment.

          • Thank you, and I enjoy the discussion greatly!

Just a note, though, every generation has thought “this must be the time”. Even John.
(I’ve wondered about Peter, though, since The Lord told him his end.)
May be another 2000 years, who knows?

          • The question that we have to engage in is what the prophecy means. Given that the church has given it status of being canonical, we must engage with it. If we dismiss it by emphasising that ‘the apostle who wrote Revelation was thinking the Apocalypse would come within his lifetime’, then we have to work VERY hard to understand it – ‘working hard’ being a euphemism for desperately reinterpreting the plain meaning to something that will fit our comfortable beliefs, rather than allowing Scripture to reshape our beliefs.

‘to think that someone alive today is able to predict future events’

Why not? Has the Holy Spirit fallen silent? Although much of the Hebrew Bible’s prophetic books are not foretelling the future, they have no hesitation in doing so occasionally. and make a point of seeing this as evidence that they are truly spokesmen of God. That we are uncomfortable with this reflects the failure of the church to enable such gifts appropriately, preferring to run screaming than engage with the hard process of telling people that they are right, and living with the consequences. Paul is very clear: ‘Do not quench the Spirit. Do not treat prophecies with contempt 21 but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil.’ And prophecy will occasionally include statements about the future. Or are you a cessationist Protestant who argues that all such things ended with the completion of the New Testament?

          • I respect and appreciate your opinion though I disagree with you on some of the specifics. But that is what makes life so interesting: the uniqueness of each person.

    • Many believe that Babylon the Great referred to in Revelation 17 & 18 also Jerimiah 50 & 51, is Modern day U.S.A. If you read with an open mind and think about the parallels it is compelling.

  8. Wow, some of these nutbag commenters almost make Hagee seem sane. Prophecies from any source are always vague enough that the willingly gullible can match the pattern to the current day, and that’s true whether it’s the book of Revelation, the quatrains of Nostradamus, or your daily horoscope. Revelation has been promising the end of the world for the past 2000 years. Get real and pick up a science book and you’ll see how the world is really going to end.

    • 3 knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires.
4 They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.”- Peter
