REVEALED: The Trump Tax Plan Would Slash Funds For Veterans And Border Security

Donald Trump loves to talk. He also loves to lie. He’s exceptionally good at both, but we’ve learned that the vast majority of the things he says are just slogans and have no connection to reality.

For example: Trump is fond of saying that he supports veterans. Then he turns around and says John McCain isn’t a hero because he was captured. He also says President Obama isn’t tough enough on the issue of immigration. But as it turns out, Trump’s proposed tax plan would severely cut funding for vets and border security.

Consider: Trump would slash federal taxes in a manner that would benefit high-earners most of all. Trump has also proposed reducing non-defense domestic spending by 1 percent each year, excluding entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare. Additionally, he has called for dramatic increases in military expenditures. According to Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, that would mean that Trump would be forced to cut veterans programs and border security funds.

Also, those cuts in programs would soon accumulate and potentially cripple both the VA and Homeland Security. Both would be cut by more than one-fourth in just the first year of Trump Administration.

Krista Jenkins, a political science professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University, said of the Trump tax plan and the impact it would have:

“Candidates often assume voters won’t get too in the weeds with policy proposals. Even if they do, in this case, whatever inconsistency there might be in his border security and tax cut proposals, many Trump supporters don’t seem fazed by things like this. It’s attitude over policy mastery and consistency.”

When asked to comment on reports which show Trump would be forced to cut these two vital programs, spokesperson Hope Hicks did not respond.

Clearly this is hypocrisy on a grand scale, and it proves yet again why Donald Trump represents an existential threat to the United States of America.

  1. Trump is a Narcissist, which has already been highlighted by the media. He will say one thing, then retract what he says; imply he never said it when confronted with it, change his mind, then change his mind again. I have personally had experience of how this behaviour manifests itself and where we think we’re on top of things, we’re actually not. How this will work out when Trump is in Government I’m really not sure, but would recommend that somehow strategies are put in place to secure Trump not having full control of his decision making. That part is worrying. As America sits in the wings anticipating how things will work out for themselves, the world looks on with concern.
