Ted Cruz Admits He’s Terrified The 2020 Election Will Be A ‘Bloodbath’ For The GOP

Texas Senator Ted Cruz (R) is very worried that the 2020 election is going to be a “bloodbath” of historic proportions, sweeping the GOP out of the White House and Senate, giving Democrats complete control of the federal government.

During an appearance on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” recently morning, Cruz admitted that the only way President Donald Trump and Republicans can possibly win the election is if American voters are optimistic when they go to the polls:

“If people are going back to work, if they’re optimistic, if they’re positive about the future, we could see a fantastic election: the president getting reelected with a big margin, Republicans winning both Houses of Congress.”

All economic signs, however, point to the opposite: 11 million jobs have been lost since Trump took office, the economy is in a deep recession, and it doesn’t appear there will be a deal for a second stimulus package. Those facts led Cruz to note:

“But I also think if on Election Day, people are angry and they’ve given up hope and they’re depressed, which is what Pelosi and Schumer want them to be, I think it could be a terrible election. I think we could lose the White House and both houses of Congress, that it could be a bloodbath of Watergate proportions.”

The Texas senator revealed that he had spoken with the president on Thursday, CNBC reports:

“Cruz said he’d spoken with Trump on Thursday and that the president wants to make a deal. That day, White House communications director Alyssa Farah told reporters the administration wanted to address a variety of stimulus strategies but not as ‘part of a larger package.’ Farah later told reporters ‘we’re open to going with something bigger,’ but ‘we’re not going to operate from the $2.2 trillion that the speaker laid out.’”

Sounds like Cruz, Trump, and the entire GOP had better get ready for a blowout when the votes are counted.
