Not all of those who support Donald Trump are violent jerkweeds who lack the requisite intelligence to form words composed of more than two syllables, but the ones who are certainly make it seem that way.
As a perfect example, we have this posting from a fanatical Trumpkin:
The person who posted this used a fake name (Faggotini Alfredo), but the intent is clear: This guy is watching TV, pointing a gun at the head of Hillary Clinton, and practically begging Trump to give him the order to pull the trigger. Is this the far right idea of democracy?
This is the just the latest example of Trump acolytes threatening violence, revolution, civil war, and other forms of “protest” if their demigod loses, which all the polls indicate he will. And Trump has helped foment distrust of the entire American electoral system with his talk of “rigged” elections and how he will refuse to concede if he feels there is voter fraud on November 8.
A week ago, a Trump supporter told the Boston Globe:
“If she’s in office, I hope we can start a coup. She should be in prison or shot. That’s how I feel about it. We’re going to have a revolution and take them out of office if that’s what it takes. There’s going to be a lot of bloodshed. But that’s what it’s going to take…I would do whatever I can for my country.”
A responsible political figure would say he doesn’t condone these calls for violence and chastise supporters who do. But as we’ve seen on hundreds of occasions, there is nothing the least bit responsible about Donald Trump. He is a loose cannon and a direct threat to the national security of the United States.
If we needed another reason to reject Trump and his supporters, consider this as Exhibit A in the case against the entire basket of deplorables.
