White House Staffers Are Reportedly Lining Up To Testify Against Trump

Thanks to some fantastic reporting from the New York Times, we know that before he left the administration, former White House counsel Don McGahn met extensively with Special Counsel Robert Mueller as part of the ongoing probe into the Russia investigation:

“In at least three voluntary interviews with investigators that totaled 30 hours over the past nine months, Mr. McGahn described the president’s fury toward the Russia investigation and the ways in which he urged Mr. McGahn to respond to it. He provided the investigators examining whether Mr. Trump obstructed justice a clear view of the president’s most intimate moments with his lawyer.”

Of course, McGahn had no option except to cooperate with Mueller’s team unless he was willing to go to prison in order to protect Donald Trump, and it seems increasingly likely that no one in the administration is willing to do that.

Trump is now so isolated and out of touch that he reportedly thought it was a great idea for McGahn to share what he knew with Mueller. The president even believed that McGahn would act as his personal attorney and defend him:

“It is not clear that Mr. Trump appreciates the extent to which Mr. McGahn has cooperated with the special counsel. The president wrongly believed that Mr. McGahn would act as a personal lawyer would for clients and solely defend his interests to investigators, according to a person with knowledge of his thinking.”

Instead, McGahn told the truth, which is what Donald Trump fears most of all.

Former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman also spoke with Mueller’s team and even offered to turn over any and all recordings she had in an effort to assist the special counsel.

What all of these defections suggest is that administration staffers are now seeking a way to save their own skin, and that involves selling out Trump. Dozens are said to either have already met with Mueller’s team of investigators or are setting up appointments. And that means Mueller will have dozens of witnesses to bolster his case against Trump and others in his inner circle.

The bottom line is this: Donald Trump is doomed. His fate is sealed. And he is going to be destroyed by the information in the report Mueller releases. He will also be indicted and placed on trial after he leaves office. While none of us can know the exact date of when this all happens, it will indeed come to pass.
